...the end to a "lovely" month...

...HEART Awareness Month...

...Wednesday...WIT and Wisdom...

...I remind myself of this everyday...

...the 25th...

Teachers are like their students....we look forward to snow days....However, I definitely wouldn't want to be blanketed with blizzard conditions like the western part of our state....More than anything, I like being home curled up  by the fireplace  with a hot drink and snacking on comfort foods....Believe it or not, it  puts me in the mood to do some cooking or baking.  It began snowing huge flakes around 7:45 p.m. covering the grass...not sure it is sticking to the roads....Guess we will be surprised in the morning.  We have a wedding this week-end of one of my childhood friend's sons....So, we don't want cold, snowy weather to linger too many days.

... another week-end...

Ali came down on Friday night to help me prepare for the shower that I was hosting on Saturday....thank you, Alison!
Saturday began with hosting the baby shower brunch for Ashley Biggs.  Paul and Ashley should be expecting their baby girl, Talyn Scout, the latter part of March.

Later in the day, Lindsay and Lucia came down to spend some time with us and Mamo.  She  had Rene and Larry  from the  Purple Penguin refinish some furniture for the baby's room so she came to pick it up..Oh, I mean, have Paul help her!....She purchased the wardrobe armoire from Rene, and plus had Rene  refinish a piece of furniture that she already had to use as the baby's changing table....Both pieces turned out sooooo cute....just perfect for a little princess...

...the after...

President's Day....A day to honor all presidents....

Our school system hasn't always been able to  give us this day as a holiday but this year they did....Weather wise it was a windy day;  however, the temp reached 60.  Paul took the day off to spend some errand time with me in Tulsa, and we took Lindsay to lunch at Panera....He gave her a hard time about looking "fat"....lol...Her baby bump is definitely beginning to pop out.  She is now between 20 and 21 weeks.

It's funny how everything goes by weeks....back in my pregnancy days, your time was calculated by months, not weeks...

Over the week-end, Auntie A gave Lindsay a surprise gift....I see this as happening often....
Ali found this onsie on Etsy....Lucia is going to be in for a major surprise!...and so is Lindsay...but it will all be with  happy hearts!...We are thankful!!!

Saturday, Feb. 16th...

Paul and I started the morning at the "FIREHOUSE" Pancake Breakfast.....great pancakes and sausage breakfast with enjoyable conversations with friends...The Firehouse is a Christian coffehouse ministry on Main Street in Bristow.
... Afterwards,  I drove to Tulsa to spend the day with the girls...shopping, of course, was the plan.....along with lunch at The WildFork in Utica Square...

...February 14th...

...twenty-one Happy Hearts...it's party day!

...the loss of a friend..

On February 12th, we lost a dear friend, David King.  It was a complete shock and the news hit us hard.  He was such a kind and talented  person working off and on for Paul on construction projects for the past 25 years for the Pizza Huts,  our  Subways  and our home. I love our home and realize it wouldn't have the unusual touches if it weren't for David.  I could show him any picture and he could  do whatever  better than the pic.  Most recently, he refinished a baby cradle  for me that was the girls.  He was 54 and has left behind a precious wife, three adult children and grandkids.

REST IN PEACE, David!
His memory will live in the hearts of many!
