....a little bit of this, a little bit of that...

...the journey of our little princess...

.
..Lindsay has been staying with Paul & I since Saturday while Brett is in Las Vegas at a business convention...On her way home to our house after work today (Feb. 5th), the baby kicked three times....Ali also is in town staying with Mamo at night so her commute to OKC for her once a month training with her traveling Rea3h Coach friend is shorter,  so excitement was "kickin"  in Mamo's house while we were preparing  a small family dinner....The Baby Center info site says that you can begin to feel movement anytime between 16-22 weeks....Lindsay is @ 18 weeks.
As this sweet grandbaby continues to grow and kick..... I stand in awe......I am thankful!

...let it snow...

This is the season of the year when I yearn for snow....It's nearing midnight in OK and I'm watching CNN's 5 hour speical on the blizzard the northeast is experiencing....I'm not wishing for 3 feet of snow without power but would enjoy looking out our windows to see our 5 Acre Woods being covered with snow.....I just think there's something about snow being romantic.....I'm in love with snow!

...classroom...

Yesterday I got a new student.....It was not really my turn because numbers were lower in two of the other  3rd grade classroooms but I was on my activity break and just happened to be in the office and overheard that he would only be at our school until the following Friday.....how sad!  Anyway, I had already spoken to him, asking him  his name;  basically, just making small talk trying to make him feel less nervous while his foster mom was filling out paperwork, so I offered to have him in my classroom.  He is a very well-mannered student that belongs in the system (DHS).....I don't really understand the system other than knowing that most of these kids are there because of abuse or neglect....He came from the Union School District with his temporary foster mom to enroll  in our  school for a week.....(I'm not sure how long he had been in the Union District but he did tell me he was in a different school in 2nd grade)....Next Friday,  he will be taken out and enrolled in another school in a different county...My counselor talked to his previous school  and they said that he was a sweet kid and  he would  definitely be missed.... I realize there's not much  time to even get an assessment done on his academic abilities,  but I know one thing....he will be leaving Collin's Elementary with good memories and a lot of lovin' from this teacher!!!!

Two of my FB friends are foster parents.....I applaud you, Kelly and Miranda!  I know you have the biggest hearts and HE will bless you in many ways.

The one thing these kiddos have in common is a need for a safe, stable place to stay and a great need for a lot of love and attention from a positive, adult role model.
