Father's Day...

...I can honestly say that my daughters have never missed acknowledging a 

Father's Day to their dad, nor their stepdad...

...It's a day honoring fathers with an early morning call, card, gift or celebration...

...When you have lost a father, it becomes even more real how important it is to 

recognize the contribution and the fatherhood of all fathers on this special day...

...we didn't tell Paul where we were going for Father's Day...

...However, when I told him to take Peoria, he guessed Coney Island...

..."Nope, keep going", I said...

...then, I directed him to Harvard, and drive North...turn right on 11th...

...that would have been his old stomping grounds growing up...

...If he had figured it out, I coudn't tell...It was Coney Island across

from TU's campus....He loved it...BUT, they were closed...😏

...So, we went back to Brookside and had a burger at the Brook...

...He's never really surprised by his gift from the girls, because it's either a 

Tommy Bahama t-shirt or some kind of cap...He just never knows what color or the

screen print it will have...he lives in these t-shirts all summer long...some now are

so old they are yard work shirts...BUT, he loves them!

...Paul is the best at keeping us focused in the right direction...

...He has a huge understanding heart and shares a tremendous source of

encouragement for my girls...We feel blessed to have him...

Plus, he is always up for a good time...

...The girls were 19 and 20 when they lost their dad.

...It will be 24 years in August...

...It saddens me that he missed seeing them grow into the ladies they have become

with their careers and motherhood...

...and missed the joy of seeing our 3 beautiful granddaughters with their 

unique personalities...💗💗💗

...the Junies had a good day w/ their dad @ Cedar Ridge swimming, but

ended up in a ditch going home...they checked out ok...everyone did..🙏.

...I am sure the 17 year old that turned in front of them was in trouble...
