love in FEBRUARY...

..."Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good...his LOVE endures forever..."
Psalms 118:1

...Healthy habits is one of the most precious gifts we can give our children...
...Being a teacher, I have seen a troubling emergence of childhood obesity...
Today, about one of three American kids and teens are overweight or OBESE...
We need to be encouraging our children to develop healthy lifestyles at the youngest possible age... The age when they learn and build daily habits that can last a lifetime.  Many of these habits, like the food and beverages they consume and the amount of physical activity they get, can have a profound effect on the quality of their lives and the likelihood of developing major illnesses later in their life...
...It is important to get kids off to the healthiest possible start...
There are also psychological effects caused by obesity...overweight, obese children are more prone to have low self-esteem, negative body image and depression.
...We don't have to be perfect all the time but it is important to be good role models...
...Stay heart healthy with diet and exercise...

Father, I ask that as my daughter prepares for the birth of twins that you guide and support her and her husband...I ask, Father, that you calm her fears while strengthening her body...may she be filled with Your peace and blessings so that she may bring these sweet baby girls into this world safely and in good health....Thank you, Father...Amen.

~
...I disliked the fact that a Pea in the Pod in Utica Square closed...I bought maternity clothes from there when I was pregnant w/ the girls...At the time, it was in the new Fontana Center...Then, Linz bought clothes when she was recently prego...So, Ali and I decided to drive to OKC to the store in Penn Square...Well, it, too, was closed...So, was the Pickles & Ice Cream maternity boutique in Edmond...We ended up at Maternity Destination which I had never heard of...She found  one dress for her maternity pics that she liked...(Hopefully the twins  don't double her size in the next two weeks)...Anyway, I'm just wondering why they are closing...maybe online shopping...??...
...I think  between the two cities, OK could definitely support one upscale maternity boutique...
...it's almost like shopping for a wedding dress...
...I vote for 'a pea in the pod'  to open back up in OK...
...just my rambling thoughts...
~~~
 February 29th...
 ...My great grandmother on my paternal side was born on Leap Year Day....We called her "Ma"...
...I remember her always wearing shirt waist dresses with her hair pulled back in a bun and dipping snuff....Yep, I guess, back in the day the women dipped snuff....My older brother was always her favorite...I've been told there was nothing he could do in her eyes that was ever wrong...
...I'm sure she had poor eyesight!!...
