Ohhh la la...October is here...

...Happy October everyone...

"Give thanks to the Lord;  for he is good...
 His love endures forever."
                                       Psalms 118:1

There is something so energizing about the changing of seasons from summer to fall....warm days, cool nights....sleeping with the windows rolled out....the smell of warm apple cider...And the abundance of colors as the leaves change.....I love fall....
Thank you Father for this season of fall....!

Fall break...

Unless you are a teacher or student, fall break probably doesn't mean much to you.  Since I am a teacher, I look forward to having a break from the daily ritual of the classroom.  We usually make a trip to our family cabin in Ruidoso but this year we have had more important issues to tend to....First and foremost, is helping Lindsay and Brea.....Secondly, Paul is in the midst of building a new Subway in Holdenville.  So, we decided we needed to stay close to home.  Plus, we have a big party celebration on Saturday to attend....Rachelle and Jim Bob's twins are turning one.

...Oct 19th...

No other candy reminds me of the fall season quite like candy corn...those triangle-shaped yellow, orange and white candies seems to find their way into every home....mix in some peanuts, and yogurt covered raisins and you have a yummy snack...or make candy corn color coated white chocolate marshmellows ....so cute for a party....candy corn  an iconic candy....

Today we had a birthday party and what better outfit for Brea...her mommy found a cute, candy corn dress with leggings....

Because of the orange and black, her Poppi got excited b/c for some strange reason he thought she was dressed for the OSU game...Noooooooo  way would her Nonni let that happen, so we put on her OU bib...

Lindsay had been wanting to do a pumpkin picture with Brea so Poppi had a pumpkin ready for us when we got home from the OKC....watching Poppi carving it out...

...enjoyed the evening by the fireplace snuggling with our sweet princess as she was mesmerized by the flickering flames and drinking hot chocolate with the girls and Poppi.....xoxo!

Fall is definitely upon us...we even had our first frost of the season last evening...

..KilKenny's Irish Pub on Cherry Street...
Today, the 20th, is our 10th Anniversary....As I said earlier, we are usually in Ruidoso during this time but didn't feel we could comfortably be away...So, our plans today were to go to Utica Square and have brunch at WildFork and do some home décor shopping....Dang, WildFork is closed on Sunday, so we went to Cherry Street and had brunch at KilKenny's Irish Pub....The food was yum...so was my mimosa!...It only takes one to relax me so I chose to come home instead to watch my Chiefs play football!..Great way to spend a 10th Anniversary....Paul will now owe me a big one this next year...
...in Tiamo...

October 26th...a day in Fayetteville, AR...

Paul and I had an invitation to one of our friend's son's wedding....I call them our friends  but Paul actually goes way back with Lester and Teresa with Pizza Hut in Harrison, Arkansas.....I love  listening  to Paul reminisce about his "glory days" in Fayetteville....He left OSU in Stillwater in 1971 and went to Fayetteville to work with A&M Food Service (Pizza Hut).   They had a red roof PH with a "hog trough" in the basement  and also a delivery operation on the famous  Dickson Street.
...Dickson Street...

It was interesting to see the Dickson Street Wall....He said they would go down to " the wall"
where all the hippies hung out to get people to work for them...Some of his stories make me wonder if he could have been a hippie.

..."the wall"...hippie hang out...

I was very impressed with Dickson Street and their Town Square.  It may be a place to visit again for shopping.

The backdrop setting for the wedding was  St Catherine's Bell Chapel, a gothic-style chapel  in the middle of the Arkansas countryside on the banks of the Hamestring Creek.  .

...beautiful bride + .handsome groom = beautiful wedding.

..."there is magic in the night, when pumpkins glow in candlelight."...

October  has come and gone....and

"The Lord has done great things for us, and our hearts are filled with joy,"  Psalms 126: 3

Peace, love and joy....
