...Sixty...

Hey,  that's ME!

My birthday was super, sensational..... and I am sixty!

My day started  with Paul bringing my teacher friends and staff at Collin's donuts,  and the kiddos in my classroom donut holes and milk....Yum.

Then, mid morning I got a surprise visit from Alison delivering flowers and 60 German Chocolate Cake balls from she and her sister, Lin-z....

...the yum got yummier...'specially made by Ali...

...with my childhood friend who teaches in the classroom next door to me...

For dinner, Paul and I ate at Freddie's Steakhouse in Sapulpa ....If you read my previous blog post, I posted a picture of my mom's 60th birthday celebration at Freddies in '93...
Freddie's has been a family favorite for many years....As young girls, my girls grew up eating Freddie's bologna buckaroos and tabouli.  In fact, Lin-z still orders it from the kid's menu...

...A pic with our waitress, Lana.....Lana was in one of the pics in my mom's pictures that I previously posted .  She was always the favorite of my dad's, so we always request Lana.....
Freddie's is owned and managed by a Bristow couple, Edmond (Tex) and Sherian Slyman.  It is a traditional Lebanese  steakhouse with an array of  hors d'voeurves... relish tray, hummus, tabouli,  crisp dinner salad, cabbage roll and rib/bologna basket.  If one is not careful, you can get full before your entree....which for us is the filet w/ the special smoke sauce, baked potato and Texas toast.

...What makes it even better is that I know the head cook....Dennis....a great friend that I graduated with from Bristow.....he's been with the Slyman's since he graduated from the OSU Okmulgee Culinary School after high school graduation....
I will say that Lana and Dennis are two integral parts of helping Tex and Sherian keeping Tulsa area people  coming back to eat at their steakhouse on Route 66 in Sapulpa.

...The celebration continues...

On Friday night, we made reservations at 'Cork' to celebrate with the girls/guys and my mom.....a hidden wine cafe in a  South Tulsa strip center at 91st/Memorial....
...having a unique choice of entrees with the crusted halibut to die for,  double pork chop, capered lemon chicken and other entree choices, along with sandwiches and appetizers.   Great, friendly service with a cozy,  comfortable atmosphere.
Cork has a long wine list, along with beer....but we actually went to enjoy the food.  It was, indeed, tasty!

...Princess update...

Our little Princess is weighing around 2 pounds and beginning to look much like a little human being....opening and closing her eyes during the ultrasound.....

....and being a "Nonni" will be even sweeter!
