...(The peak of the hippie movement was thriving in the late 1960's, and was pretty much a done deal by 1975. There are still hippies today but most of it was absorbed by our culture realizing they couldn't survive panhandling from one concert or rally to another. My main memory of this era is when Wendy Berlowitz stood on OU's Campus Corner in 1973 and auctioned off her bikini top. She wanted to show people there was nothing wrong w/ nudity. She was handcuffed and taken to jail. Later, she and her husband left the Norman area in their beat up station wagon living in it, phone booths and Holiday Inn lobbies.)...
...For the record as of September 2019, it is now legal for women to go topless in public in Oklahoma and five other states, although some cities will continue to enforce ordinances against toplessness...🙈
