Unusually cold temperatures for May allowed for sleet and snow to mix with rain across northeast Oklahoma during the evening hours of May 2nd, making it the latest observed snow since records began in the 1900's. The previous snow was recorded on April 18, 1953....7 days after my birth! So, this marks the first time snow has fallen in the month of May.
Leading up to this strange event, high temps on April 29, 30th and May 1st were all in the 80's.....Strange Okie weather, I guess.

Our princess bunny is estimated to be 4 lbs...WOW!
Lauren & Jared's wedding...
As you know, the weather has been erractically Craszzzy.....as it was on May 4th....not the kind of weather a bride would dream about for her wedding day....it was cold, rainy....temperature at half past 6 pm was in the mid to low 40's....definitely not the average, normal May temp....SO, we sat in the pecan grove on the Glover Ranch in the misty rain wrapped in our winter, wool shawls and coats with umbrellas waiting for the entrance of the bridesmaids and the bride to arrive by a horse drawn carriage.
As the ceremony continued, the girls gradually moved closer to each other for warmth....they were all shaking uncontrollably....the thought passed through my mind that Lindsay could possibly
loose her belly bump....lol!
It was cold and rainy.....but mystically beautiful !!!

Many students and teachers are counting down to summer break. This may be a bittersweet time for some of our children who will miss the comfort of the schoolhouse, their teachers and friends...
Once the end is near it always seems the year has flown by...We have several fun activities planned for the end ...on Friday, we will be going to the Pawnee Bill Museum for an AR celebrataion.

Today we had our end of the year teacher breakfast where I, along with others, received their recognition pins for their years of teaching with the Bristow Public Schools.....mine was for 25 years. That's all my years of teaching with Bristow....That is not including the year I taught kindergarten am only, nor one year in the Coweta Public School District and the three years that I taught at Metro Christian Academy in Tulsa with an 8 year break in between. As I have said many times, time flies.
We are still experiencing CrazZZy May weather. We have had rumbling rain showers most of the day with the temperature being 60 degrees at 3 pm. On Sunday evening, we had tornadoes that leveled homes in Shawnee and wiped out a small town called Carney, where one of my co-workers' families lost everything. As if that wasn't enough.... on Monday, we experienced 'MOORE' tornadoes that came with a vengeance wiping out a 30 square mile area where a school still in session was taken down to a rubble of bricks, blocks and twisted metal killing 7 students, luckily not more. Parts of Moore is the same area that was devastated by the May 3, 1999 tornado.....so sad!

My heart hurts for the families that lost loved ones and I pray for strength and hope for all involved....

After I finished checking out at school, Paul and I made a quick drive to our Subway/Mama DeLuca's Pizza in Langley by Grand Lake. There are many, many places to eat around GL; however, if you want to "eat fresh", remember to stop at our place.....we serve breakfast, too!
We've heard great reviews about the Artichoke in Langley...so tonight on a spur of the moment decision, we decided to eat there... they do serve a nice menu...it is fine dining in a cozy historic farmhouse more than a century old.
...not the best pic...looks like I'm ready to go in for a kill the lettuce wedge...lol!
Today, Grand Lake is Oklahoma's number one tourist attraction....great place to play in the water, shop or dine...
